This short story is free. It is based on the theme 'Parade.'
When revolutionaries become out-of-control mobs, keeping your head becomes a priority. Flora, her sister and mother are caught up in the 'Reign of Terror' which will guillotine more than 16 000 people. To escape, they face many other terrors. Will they survive?
What began as a short story soon turned into a full length novel, which has taken me ten months to finish. It blends black holes and portals with a medieval world of fantasy with magicians. I don't claim to be a hard core sci-fi writer, but I have kept the scientific part of the novel as accurate or believable as possible. The rest is pure imagination.
It is easy reading, which should be attractive to all sci-fi/fantasy fans, including young adults (YA category).
Snowdonia will be next, followed by Monstera; Hydra and Moss. Shade will be the concluding story of the series.
Whipped egg whites, huh? That seems innocuous enough but then things aren't always what they seem.

It is not every day that one stumbles upon a talented Englishman. This one is tucked away in a corner of Devon but his ingeniosity with words stretches across the internet. Barnaby Wilde reaches out and regales us wherever we are with the deviousness of his line of thinking.

Just what is the trouble with Thorndyke? He doesn't even know himself; but he's in it neck deep!
This novel is written with the collaboration of 5 indie authors. They are:
Here is the beginning of Chapter 1 :
Sweat beaded on Thorndyke’s upper lip. His breathing was controlled and shallow, in an attempt to avoid detection. The big bass drum of his heart felt as if it would burst from his chest. Being found was inevitable. Death was inevitable. He was merely prolonging the agony. Agony. Deep down, it wasn't death that really scared him. It was how he would die. These people meant business. To these people, their “clients” were people to keep in line, and those that stepped beyond that line were to be made an example of.
